TIMOTHY

FROM TIMOTHY AN AFRICAN CHRISTIAN

My Apologies to You, Lord:

I really do not even know where to begin in a place of an over-full heart. But let me try to start. I am sorry. Truly, deeply, and with all my heart, I am sorry.

And as I take the time to write this letter, I find myself burdened by all my failings and take them before you not to hide or excuse them but to ask for your forgiveness.

God, I know how I failed you in so many instances in a single day. The times I take you for granted, forgetting to thank you for all the blessings bestowed upon me, are countless, because I so easily get fixated on the lack of what I don’t have rather than offering thanks for what I do.

Throwing You out, I end up getting caught up with my plans, my wants, my problems, and so on. I know You are always there, yet I continue to try and live on my own strength, crumbling once more and again.

Dear Almighty God, I am sorry for speaking when I should have kept silent and for hurting others with the words I said or the actions I took, for pride, anger, impatience, or doubts.

Forgive me for the time wasted in petty affairs and for those things that are of no importance, and for forgetting that this is not about me, but about You.

Forgive me, Lord, for the many times when fear, anxiety, and gloom sat too high in my mind against Your urging me to trust in You. For silencing the quiet moments for prayer. For shutting out the chance to read your Word, or not really listening when you spoke to my heart.

God, thank you for your blessings. May your strength, power, and protection be with us.
Timothy
