Exposing the evil of this so called innocent festival

By Keith

HALLOWEEN

Here are some more ideas, for you to oppose this evil.

You can pray binding the power of Satan.. and get your church and house group together to do the same. Have a prayer meeting at your church on the date of Halloween or open up your home for a prayer meeting

You can prayer walk you area.. applying the blood of Jesus to every house.

You can give out gospels to every child who comes to your house Trick or Treating.

You can speak out against the evils of Halloween.. we need people who will stand up and say “THUS SAYS THE LORD.”

Please share this devotion with all your friends and groups esp place on Facebook.

Thanks, and God bless

NOONDAY DEVOTION BY KEITH

REPROVE AND CHALLENGE ALL EVIL WAYS

Ephesians5

11 Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but rather expose and reprove and convict them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that [such people] practice in secret.

13 But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible andclear there is light.

14 Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.

15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),

16 Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.

The Lord has laid this devotion on my heart. I feel very passionately about the evils of Halloween.

Now I know many believers think I am going over the top on this issue, so let’s start with these verses in Galatians 5

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 idolatry,witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Do you notice anything believer?.. yes, Witchcraft is included in this list.

Jesus talks about things like adultery and murder in the Sermon on the Mount; He says that if you do them in your heart, you are as guilty as those who actually do them.. what about participating in Halloween?

Well, if you let you children dress up in ghostly costumes, or place carved pumpkins outside your house.. you are involving yourself in this evil practice, when God clearly tells you in his word to have nothing to do with it.. forgive me, I am a bit slow.. but even a slow person like realises that this for what it is.. DISOBEDIENCE.

What does the first part of Ephesians 5:11 say.. HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKS OF DARKNESS.. IT MEANS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS!!!.

The Ephesian believers had a great bonfire and burnt all their pagan books.. they took these verses to heart, more to the point, they obeyed them.

Believers want God to be their friend.. well, He is.. If you obey Him. He demands that you burn all this Halloween stuff and that you do not participate in this godless and pagan holiday.

If Christians acted like the Ephesian believers and burned all this rubbish, we would have bonfires stretching all across America and other countries. I estimate and I am just guessing here that Evangelical Bible believing Christians spend up to 100 million in many currencies on Halloween food, costumes etc. How much would world missions benefit if that money was given to support the work of the church overseas? How many missionaries are struggling for support and the church wastes money on this rubbish?

Now I won’t be the only person teaching or preaching this in the run up to Halloween, but some people do not get it.. it is TIME TO OBEY THE LORD AND TO HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH THE WORKS OF DARKNESS.

This so-called holiday is in the realm of the devil.. he is our enemy.. it seems some Christians have crossed over to the enemy’s side for the time leading up to Halloween.

IF you go on any social media site such as FACEBOOK and click on the satanic groups, their groups have up to 20,000 members, my brothers and sisters, the devil is not playing games, we laugh at Nero and say he fiddled whilst Rome burnt, but in joining in with the Halloween fun, we play with fire. We are not to fiddle about with these things, we are to rebuke this evil. The first settlers that came to America would be shocked to see this across the country, this was not brought by them.

You know Christians think, they are on some kind of party ride, the devil is deadly serious, there are thousands of groups all across the world, who will pray for the destruction of Christianity on this time, this is the height of evil and must be opposed.

It is time to tell you kids not to participate in this, to forbid them.. yes, to be strict, what peer group pressure is placed on them. It is time for you pastors to preach against this evil, it is time for the church to pray against this evil, to not go to stores who sell this stuff.

It is time to burn the stuff you have about Halloween and go to the Lord in Repentance.. are you prepared to burn all the Halloween stuff you have in your house?

THE DEVIL IS NOT PLAYING GAMES, WHY ARE WE?

IF you join in with this evil, then you are standing with the devil’s side, what was Aaron and the Children of Israel doing, when they worshipped the Golden Calf, bowing down to an idol.  What are we doing when we have pumpkins around the porch? Oh, they look pretty, the Lord doesn’t think so?

WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE?

You refuse and join in with this stuff, then you are in rebellion against God and what is rebellion, it is like the sin of witchcraft

In 1 Samuel 15, the Lord says that rebellion, which is a refusal to do what you are told and to go your own way, is like this

22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

In verse 16 of Ephesians 5, we are told to redeem the time, literally to buy it back. If you are involving yourself in this practice.. stop and turn in repentance.

There are millions of Christians who say nothing and are silent, it is time to rise up like a mighty army of prayer warriors. Prayer chains against this evil should run in every church, every city, every village and every Christian household. We need to stand against this evil and to come to Lord in repentance asking his forgiveness and pleading for revival, so that this evil will be banished forever.

If you refuse to obey the Lord and participate in Halloween, then you are guilty of witchcraft, and as Galatians 5 says.. no one who does such a thing will enter the Kingdom of God.. A very sobering thought.. Amen

HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS PAGAN TIME.

A final word, the 31st October is the anniversary of Martin Luther and what he did back in 1517, what did he do you say?

Christians know more about halloween than they do about the reformation, what a disgrace that is…amen

Many Christian parents are concerned about what Halloween really is. We know that it is of Druidical origin which means that it was part of the Druid religion. In essence, Druidism is the worship of evil spirits, especially of druids who were believed to dwell in trees. There were priests in the Druid religion and like all pagan religions, Druidism revolved around the worship of evil spirits, and offerings to them to insure the welfare of the worshippers.

THE ORIGIN OF HALLOWEEN

The name of the festival in early days (and it is still found in Ireland) meant “Satan’s Watch.” It was the night given over to Satan and his demons to work all the evil they wanted in the hope they would leave people unmolested the rest of the year. A fire was commonly kept burning on that night. The ghosts of the dead were dreaded and feared and men were thought to be restless in their graves because of something that happened in their life on earth. They were supposed to come back from the dead to take vengeance on those who were descended from people who had wronged them. People commonly locked themselves in their houses and spent the night in terror, letting the devil have his fling and do his worst.

Spiritualism and witchcraft is very real and we should not be providing our children with this opportunity for involvement. Many, if not all of our Halloween customs have their roots in these ancient beliefs. The witch on the broomstick and the jack-o-lantern are the symbols of Halloween. The witch, of course, is the personification of evil which is a substitute for Satan. The jack-o-lantern symbolizes the fire that was kept burning in the houses of those who feared Satan’s worst. In fact the jack-o-lantern is always lit up (there is a fire there) so as to frighten away the devil.

WHAT HALLOWEEN REALLY MEANS

Dressing up in costumes and “trick or treating” to the neighbors is a carry-over

of the idea of making an offering to Satan and to the spirits to appease them. “Trick or treating” is a modern form of saying “offering or revenge.” The grotesque and horrible masks our young people wear making themselves look like skeletons, dead people, or horrible monsters are symbolizing Satan and inspiring fear to get an offering.

Satan likes Halloween celebrations because this is a glorification of evil. Most people naturally do not think of it in this way. We believe it is all done in fun. Is it wise to have our children dress up like the devil and have “fun” in a devilish form? Can this possibly please God? After all, Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we are in a spiritual battle against Satan and his demons when it says. “for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. When the Word of God teaches this, do you think it is right to celebrate a night given over to our enemy, Satan? When we poke fun and joke about the spirit world, we are encouraging ourselves and our children to believe that this doesn’t really exist. When we allow our children to dress up like witches and ghosts, we are allowing them to treat lightly what God treats seriously in His Word. Exodus 22:18, Deuteronomy 18:10, and several other scriptures tell us that this is wrong. Those who don’t know about the origin and meaning of Halloween are feeding their own belief into the Word of God when they treat lightly and celebrate what God hates. Satan camouflages himself amidst fun and gaiety and gets people to belittle his power and activity among men or even completely deny it. It is a very clever trick of the enemy.

AN ALTERNATIVE FOR TODAY

Satan is getting bolder in the United States, Occult practices are springing up all over America. Halloween parties provide a perfect setting for these. Often at these parties there is fortune telling, ouija boards, seances, and things of that nature. We can’t afford to have our children participate in these activities.

We realize the problems this creates because it will be said “everybody” is dressing up to go “trick or treating.” October 31 is not evil of itself. It is what we do with it that matters. Let’s work at substituting good fun for bad. We can start working through our church. Instead of having a Halloween party, have a fun night —games, refreshments, and perhaps even a film. The children can dress up – maybe a clown night, an old-fashioned night, or even Bible character night. Have a party! Have fun! Let it be harmless fun and let us glorify our Lord Jesus Christ – not His adversary.

One of my concerns is that when a child has enjoyed trick or treating once a year and then becomes a teenager…What then? Well, they are not going around knocking on doors for candy, that’s for kids. So, what happens — they have parties and hold séances. This is a fact, and the results sometimes can be devastating, added to the fact that they are violating God’s will and opening themselves up to demon possession.

The BOTTOM LINE is that this would be a good time to explain to our children about the TRUE source and power and the one who we should really celebrate is JESUS.

God Bless,

Ben
