How Precious Is Your Steadfast Love

Psalm 36:7-12

How precious is your steadfast love?
Your children take refuge in your wings;
For blessings that flow from above,
The goodness that everything brings.

We shall feast abundantly there,
You give us drink tastes such delight;
Content with the fatness You share,
A restful sleep throughout the night.

With You is the fountain of life,
In Your light we can see the light;
To keep avoiding any strife,
Enabling in having insight.

Oh, continue Your steadfast love,
To all of the people who know You;
Share Your Spirit that’s like a dove,
Give a righteous heart that is true.

Let not the foot of pride appear,
Nor the hand of evil drive me;
For I desire to revere,
So, I can follow Your decree.

Let the sinners be cast away,
Workers of iniquity die;
They are thrust down because they stray,
Unable to rise since they lie.

Go Spread the Glorious Gospel

The world is lost and broken –
They need the Lord so much,
They need His love and mercy,
They need His saving touch.

Some bask in tempting pleasures
The things of earth can bring
That fill life’s fleeting moments
Yet cost them everything.

While other folks are desperate
In search of something more,
Unhappy or despondent
They’re hurting at the core.

The Bible is the answer
And Jesus is the way –
He offers satisfaction
That never fades away.

Let those who know the Savior
Look up and see the need,
Then spread the glorious gospel
With every word and deed.

To Touch One Life Today

Lord, help me change one life today,
To touch one heart for You,
To be Your hands and feet, I pray,
To do as You would do.

Though billions live around the earth,
I cannot reach them all;
I’d waste today pursuing worth
And miss the greater call.

Its those I know and those I meet
Whose lives I’ll shape today –
I’ll lift them up or help defeat
Pursue its grinding way.

Don’t let me miss the one You’ve sent
For me to lift and love –
I’m not my own, I represent
My King who reigns above.

Please help me touch a life today –
Lord, love a soul through me,
So when night falls that one can say,
“God really cares for me!”

A Different Motto

This life is just a shadow
Of what my life will be
In resurrected glory
Beyond the crystal sea

Where many have a motto
That fails them by and by
(Eat, drink, and let’s be merry
For soon we all will die)

I have an expectation
That soon I’ll truly live
And so I’m always seeking
The prize my Lord will give

Let’s love and serve and worship
For at tomorrow’s dawn
We’ll wake to life eternal
That stretches on and on

Approved Workers

A Worker Approved by God

2 Timothy 2:14-19

I remind you of these things,
Being charged before the Lord;
Knowing what quarreling brings,
Never let it be ignored.

Words do not strive for profit,
Just ruins what others hear;
Which does no good for merit,
Never considered sincere.

Present yourself as approved,
Faithful servant of the Lord;
Handling of the truth behooved,
And living in one accord.

There’s no need to be ashamed,
Justify the Word of truth;
Speak as it should be proclaimed,
Never in sounding uncouth.

Shun profane and vain babble,
It leads to ungodliness;
Steer clear of any fable,
Since most are unhallowedness.

Their talk will spread like cancer,
As it will swerve from the truth;
Stabbing you like a lancer,
Others as feeling forsooth.

Resurrection already past,
Makes some of faith be upset;
As their feelings to downcast,
For not erasing of their debt.

God’s firm foundation still stands,
Iniquity will depart;
When your confession demands,
With honesty from your heart.

Ransom Return

A Help in Sorrow
Isaiah 35:8-10

A highway shall be there,
The Way of Holiness;
Only the clean will share,
That as the Lord will bless.

The unclean shall not pass,
Just who walk on the Way;
Since the unclean trespass,
As fools they go astray.

No lion shall be there,
Nor shall ravenous beast;
Just the redeemed to share,
To partake of the feast.

The ransomed of the Lord,
Shall return to Zion;
The righteous who adored,
Will avoid the lion.

Sorrow shall feel away,
His chosen have gladness;
For the Lord comes to stay,
No one having sadness.

To Know Christ

Righteousness Through Faith in Christ

Philippians 3:2-8

Beware of dogs and evil men,
And beware of the concision;
That might approach you now and then,
For their ungodly intention.

Since we are the circumcision,
Who worship and rejoice in Christ;
Putting no fleshy decision,
Earthly pleasures that have enticed.

Though I myself have a reason,
In the flesh to have confidence;
Someone else thinks of a season,
That maybe just coincidence.

When circumcised on the eighth day,
As persecutor of the church;
Righteousness that has gone away,
Under the Law blameless in my search.

Whatever that I had to gain,
I had counted it as for a loss;
For the sake of Christ of the pain,
As He hung up upon the cross.

I count everything as a loss,
Because of the surpassing worth;
Knowing that my Lord on the cross,
That has given me a rebirth.

The loss of all things I suffered,
In order that I may gain Christ;
Because of my Lord who buffered,
My past life has been sacrificed.
