PUNJAB

PAKISTAN PART 6

Continue to pray for the calling of more and more workers, not only national believers, but also from other Asian countries.

Pray for the calling and training of more and more Pastors and church workers. Many pastors are under pressure, they are in deep need of fervent prayer as they serve God in an alien environment.

The church is in desperate need of resources to help them mature and grow.

Many peoples do not have the bible in their own language, may the introduction of AI, help the translation process and may all of Pakistan’s people, have access to the scriptures.

Many groups are printing and distributing Christian literature. Please pray that it would be relevant and directly aimed at the Muslim majority.

YOUNG PEOPLE

Rural young people often live in poverty and very few have any chance of advancement. Child labour and forced marriages are major problems. Please pray that every child in the country would have an opportunity to hear the gospel.

Young people in the cities face multiple problems such as materialism, unemployment etc. To be a Christian in the city is very difficult, please pray for all young Christian believers that they would stand strong for the gospel.

Drug addiction affects over 7 million, and is especially rampant amongst young people and university students. Please pray for the breaking of these bondages

Several groups such as Scripture Union, Operation mobilisation and University missions are seeking to disciple a new generation of leaders. Please pray that many young people would come to mature faith.

95,000 People and no believers, there is urgent need of a spiritual breakthrough amongst groups like this.

They live in Kashmir and have virtually no contact with the outside world and no resources available  to them

Please pray for this people and ask God to send forth labourers into this people group.

UNREACHED PEOPLES

The mountain people of the far north are totally unreached, there are few believers and even fewer fellowships.

Specific people groups to pray for include the Balti, Burusha, Khowari and the Shina. These are some of the larger groups, but there are many other smaller groups.

Before any work can be started, the ground has to be watered with fervent and tearful prayer. Please pray many intercessors would be raised up.

Many Afghan refugees have fled to Pakistan and some have come to faith, please pray for the work amongst them, that is bearing fruit.

The Ahmadiyya are Muslims that are seen as heretical outcasts by the Muslim majority. Nothing is being done to reach the ten million Ahmadiyya both in Pakistan and worldwide.

PEOPLE FOCUS

BALTI

CHRISTIANS :  LESS THAN 10

These people were once Buddhist, but changed to Islam in 14^th century. They live in the disputed region of Kashmir, which is largely closed to foreigners. Please pray for openings for medical teams and aid workers who are Christians to be allowed into this region.

This people is precious to God, please pray that the Lord would send workers into the harvest field and raise up intercessors for these people mentioned above.

Lets continue to pray for the Unreached peoples of Pakistan

The 25 million Sindhi are now showing signs of people coming to faith, due to radio broadcasts and loving ministry. Please pray for the Sindhi partnership that seeks to reach this people group.

May many Sindhi come to faith and many churches formed.

The Baloch and Brahui live in Balochistan is an area that is not hospitable, please pray for the calling of many missionaries to these peoples and for the forming of a vibrant church amongst them.

Over 1 million live in Karachi and this is an open door to reach them.

The Mohajir’s make up mst of Karachi’s population but there is little evangelism aimed at them.  Please pray that churches would be formed amongst the 10 million Mohajir’s.

People focus

The Ansari number over 4 million in Pakistan, less than 0.1% are believers.

Remember that God said every people group and language would be heard round his throne. Please pray that many in the Ansari community would come to faith.

This needs the calling of equipped and called workers.

This people group are weavers and sellers of fabrics, please pray that they would come into contact with believers who would share the gospel with.

Pakistan Part 2

This country lies right at the heart of the unreached world, over 300 people groups and castes have never heard the name of Jesus. Please become an intercessor for these peoples outlined below.

The teeming millions of the Punjabi majority on the Indus plains, there are a few fellowships amongst them, but there is so much to be done.  Please pray for the establishment of fellowships.

The Pashtuns situated by the North west Frontier with Afghanistan are virtually unreached. Pray for the calling of committed and fervent intercessors and missionaries, this is a demonic stronghold, which can only be broken by constant fervent prayer.

The Seraiki speaking peoples number 14 million, these peoples are largely ignored, but they need the gospel.

Please pray for them, that missionaries and intercessors would be raised up.

Karachi is a strategic hub for the gospel, millions come to the city for work. There are opportunities to share the gospel as people need love and care. Please pray for the other main cities such as  Islamabad,  Lahore and Multan.

Let us focus on a people group in Pakistan

Baloch People

Pray that the Lord would raise up intercessors and evangelists to go to this people.

Pray that these people would be touched by dreams and visions of Jesus.

Pray that a Baloch church would become a reality.

Pray that they would have the bible in their own language.

PAKISTAN PART 1

Population 250 million

Christians 1.3 million

As you can see by the above statistic, the need in this muslim country is very urgent.

Despite the best efforts of radical Islamic groups, the gospel continues to grow, the church is maturing, but faces deep challenges. 

The imposition of sharia/blasphemy laws allow many Muslim’s to persecute the church, but through all this, the church continues to grow.

Deep and powerful revival to sweep over the church, many believers are committed, but many are nominal.

Please pray for the pastors seeking to lead the church in very difficult circumstances, Please pray that more men would be raised up who are humble servants.

Many churches operate in inadequate facilities, as many of the believers come from poor backgrounds. Please pray that the Lord would provide the finances needed.

Pray for unity between the believers, the muslim community needs to see the power of unity in Christ.

Pray that through all the persecution and intimidation, Christians would not live in fear, they would be like Peter and John in Acts 4

Pray that Christians would have a holy boldness to share the gospel.

The church was birthed from the lowest class of Dalits and so most Muslims have never heard of Jesus.  Pray that believers would be outward looking and outreach focused to reach the masses.
