UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE
” And he said unto them, where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, what manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him…Luke 8:25.”
This is the question that the Lord asked his disciples, ‘Where is your faith? If we read the story carefully, Jesus is with them in the boat, but he is asleep, after all Jesus was human like us and sometimes got tired.
So often in our lives, we act if Jesus was asleep, we don’t ask Him to guide us until we like the disciples have our lives filled with water and are in danger of sinking. We so often go to Jesus as a last resort, after all our efforts have failed. The disciples tried to row to shore but they tried in their own strength.. just like us at times.
Are you trying to row your own boat.? to borrow a metaphor.. you are up the creek without a paddle. We have Jesus in our lives, but we act like he is asleep, he is there for us, to go and call on in prayer and he will come and calm our storm. But we must ask Him.
Jesus knew what was happening and what the disciples were going through, but he waited and waited for them to call Him. God is waiting to hear your call, in the midst of the storm, don’t try to row to land or empty the boat of water. Jesus asked the disciples.. and he asks us, where is your faith? Is it in your own efforts, in your own methods or in ME? Go to GOD IN PRAYER, who is the STORM CALMER. Until you do, you are up the creek without a paddle
God bless you

ANSWER GOD’S QUESTION
” And the Lord said unto Moses, how long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws…Exodus 16:28.”
The Israelites have just come across the Red sea and that’s a true miracle. God had provided food in the form of manna and quails, he had given them instructions, how they had to collect it and still some of the children of Israel went out to collect it on the seventh day..
Throughout the history of the children of Israel, God told them the consequences of associating with the people in the land of Canaan, but they did not listen. This is the same in the church today. God gives specific instructions to his church. Many Christians see obedience to the word of God as a pick and mix option but you cannot choose which commands to obey and which to ignore
We are told not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers but how many Christians marry non-Christians saying they love them? (See 2 Cor 6:14) Obedience to God’s word is paramount. Saul failed to completely obey God and it hurt God’s heart (1 Samuel 15:11). Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Sam 15:22), God wants your obedience. . After all you claim to call him Master and Lord. You say you are a soldier in the King’s army. Well, soldiers are to obey their commanding officer.
