3 JOHN

3 JOHN

For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;

Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:

NO GREATER JOY

John is here speaking as the elder statesman of the church, he is the last of the apostles alive, his mind is still sharp as he remembers the times he spent with his Saviour and his fellow apostles.

He is an exile now, on the island of Patmos, a place far away from ministry and yet he receives regular reports from people who come to Him, and it thrills his soul.

On our recent trip to the UK, I was privileged to spend a little time with Andrew, who 40 years ago, led me to Christ, It must of been thrilling to him to see me serving God after all this time.. thanks, Andrew, for showing me Jesus.

We also shared on the street with my friend Mike, who came to know Christ at a meeting I was at, it was thrilling to see Mike sharing the gospel in the open air.

John is thrilled because Gauis his beloved friend and other brethren arer walking in truth, they are keeping to the truths of the bible, they are walking in the spirit’s power.

They are walking in love, their love is so good it is recalled as an example before the church.

What gives you the greatest joy?

One of the main things is that those you have counselled or led to Christ or discipled are now going on in Christ.

So many believers haven’t led one person to Christ, they haven’t discipled anyone and so they cannot say the words spoken by the apostle John.

Can you say these words?

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

God bless you

Keith
