CHINESE IN AUSTRALIA

This Week’s Prayer Guide

July 12 – This week we are praying for the Chinese diaspora in Australia.  There are 1.4 million Chinese in Australia out of a total population of just over 27 million, about 5.5%.  Pray that each one of them will have a personal encounter with the gospel of Christ.

July 13 – About one million of Chinese in Australia are first-generation migrant workers looking for a better place to live, better education, and also a better future.  May the Lord lead them to the hope of Christ as they live as strangers in a foreign country.

July 14 – Encouraging these first-gen Chinese immigrants to open up has been challenging because they tend to stay within their own ethnic circles and not engage with mainstream culture.  Pray that they will feel secure and comfortable to get to know people from other cultures and other races and skin colors.

July 15 – Chinese churches in Australia, and in most other places around the world, tend to operate in silos and are independent from each other.  Please pray for opportunities to make meaningful and deeper connections with Chinese leaders of various denominations and traditions to create a gospel movement.

July 16 – Please pray that the Chinese churches in Australia can pull their resources together for a healthy support movement — not just among the Chinese churches and Chinese leaders, but that they are willing to collaborate and work with other churches and people of other races.

July 17 – Please pray for more new Chinese church plants in Australia.  Local leaders are praying for 70 more Chinese church plants before 2030.

July 18 – Give thanks to God for the pastors and church leaders who are currently ministering to the Chinese diaspora in Australia.  Please pray that God will continue to protect their families and encourage them to continue to faithfully preach the gospel.
