Just Do It

“Now, therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say…Exodus 4:12.”

The emphasis on “now” in this verse is mine. The command was given Moses to go and God promised to teach him what to say. But Moses wasn’t sure and wanted someone to go with him even though God said “go”. In other words, we should be willing to just do it. If God gives us a command to do something, He will be with us. It’s just that simple.

The word of God promises help and the word of God can’t lie. Luke 21:15 says:

“For I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.”

Did Pharaoh resist Moses effectively, no? Were those that imprisoned Paul and Silas effective in stopping their witness? No. They were told to go and they went. They were told to witness to the truth that Jesus is the way the truth and the life; so, they spoke.

The Lord also tells us to witness for Him. We would be foolish to do so without prayer and reading the Word. But we are to do it. Don’t let the devil steal your joy you receive when witnessing to another person.

As we go to work and see a hurtful and sinful world, the Lord gives us the opportunity to witness for him, but like Moses, we often hesitate. You may say, “I don’t know what to say” but exercise faith and just do it. The Holy Spirit will guide you.

If people come up to us and ask for help, don’t be afraid to speak out for fear of rejection. Just Do It. Jesus will guide and protect you. He’ll give you the word to use in season. Remember, we are soldiers for Jesus Christ, let’s go out and serve in His Name.
