Interference

John 4:24 (NIV)—God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Recently at church, we had a soloist who played the guitar  to accompany his singing. Unfortunately, the amplifier for the guitar was so loud that we could not hear the words he was singing. His message was missed, because it was lost in the interfering background noise. 

How often is our own worship diminished by the interfering noise in our everyday lives?  It could be our distracting thoughts, or people nearby within hearing range, or the television. 

Do we put first things first, prioritizing worship of God ? Do we worship God in “the Spirit and in truth?” John 4:24, NIV)

We don’t have to be in church to worship God. We can talk to Him any time and place. We need to sometimes ,eliminate the “noise in our lives,” to hear Him speaking to us in His Word.
